FAQ
Everything people ask us — pricing, scheduling, what we take, and where we go — gathered in one place.
General questions
How does Junk Bros pricing work?
We price by how much room your items take up in our truck. You'll always get a clear, upfront quote before we start — no hourly surprises and no hidden fees.
How soon can you pick up my junk?
Usually within a day or two. Tell us your timeline when you request your free quote and we'll book the next available slot that works for you — we pride ourselves on moving quickly.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Rochester Hills and serve communities throughout Metro Detroit, including Rochester, Troy, Auburn Hills, Sterling Heights, and many more.
What kinds of junk do you take?
Furniture, appliances, refrigerators, construction debris, hot tubs, playsets, and general household clutter. We handle single items all the way up to full garage, basement, and estate cleanouts.
Is there anything you can't haul away?
We can't accept hazardous materials such as wet paint, chemicals, fuels, or asbestos. If you're unsure about an item, just ask when you request your free quote.
Do I need to be home for the pickup?
Not always. If the items are accessible and you've confirmed the quote, we can often complete the job without you on-site. We'll coordinate the details with you ahead of time.
Pricing & payment
How exactly do you price junk removal?
We price by volume — how much space your items take up in our truck. You pick the load size (or we eyeball it on-site) and get a flat, upfront price before we start. No hourly meter, no surprises.
Is the estimate the final price?
It's a ballpark to help you plan. We always confirm the exact, no-obligation price in person (or from your photos) before any work begins — and it won't change unless the job does.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price we quote covers the labor, loading, hauling, and standard disposal. Unusually heavy materials (like concrete) or special-disposal items are the only things that can affect it, and we'll always tell you up front.
Do you offer a free quote?
Always. Call us or request a quote online and we'll give you a clear price for free — there's never any obligation to book.
Services & what we haul
Do I need to move everything outside first?
No. Our crew does all the lifting and carrying from wherever the items are — inside, upstairs, the backyard, anywhere. Just point and we'll handle it.
How is the price decided?
Pricing is based on how much space your junk takes up in our truck. We give you a clear, upfront quote before we start, so there are no surprises.
What won't you take?
We can't take hazardous materials like wet paint, chemicals, asbestos, or fuels. If you're unsure about an item, just ask when you request your quote.
Can you remove furniture from the second floor or basement?
Absolutely. Our crew is equipped to safely carry furniture up and down stairs and through tight spaces.
Do you donate furniture that's still in good shape?
Yes. Whenever an item is reusable, we do our best to donate it to a local charity or recycle it responsibly.
Do you disconnect the appliance for me?
We can disconnect standard plug-in and basic hookups. For hardwired or gas appliances, we recommend having them professionally disconnected first for safety.
Is refrigerator removal handled responsibly?
Yes. We dispose of refrigerators and freezers following proper guidelines for refrigerant handling and recycle the metal whenever possible.
Do I have to sort everything before you arrive?
Not at all. Just point out what stays and what goes — we handle the sorting, hauling, and cleanup, and donate usable items where we can.
Can you handle a full property in one visit?
Yes. We regularly clear entire homes and properties from top to bottom and leave them broom-swept and ready for the next step.
Can you work after business hours?
Yes. We'll schedule around your operations — evenings or weekends — so we stay out of your customers' and team's way.
Do you offer recurring commercial pickups?
We do. If your business generates junk on a regular basis, we can set up a recurring schedule that keeps the space clear.
Do you work with contractors on ongoing projects?
Yes. We're happy to schedule recurring pickups to keep your job site clear throughout a project.
Can you handle heavy materials like tile and concrete?
We can take many heavy renovation materials — just let us know the type and volume when you request a quote so we can plan accordingly.
Can you remove a built-in or attached item?
Often, yes — light demolition like deck boards and fencing is something we handle. We'll confirm the specifics when we give your quote.
Do you clean up the area afterward?
Always. We clear the debris and tidy up so your patio or yard is left ready to use.
Is there a limit to how much yard waste you'll take?
We price by volume, so we can take anything from a few bags to a full truckload. You'll get an upfront price before we load.
Do you remove large stumps?
We handle small to medium stumps that are already out of the ground. For large grinding or extraction, we'll point you in the right direction.
Can you move something extremely heavy?
Usually, yes. Tell us the item and where it is when you request a quote and we'll bring the right crew and equipment.
Will you protect my floors and walls?
Yes — careful handling on tight or heavy items is exactly what we do, so your home stays in good shape.
Do you do the disassembly?
Yes — we bring the tools and take the structure apart ourselves. You don't have to lift a thing.
How should I prepare for a hot tub removal?
Have it drained and disconnected from power and water before we arrive. From there, our crew handles the dismantling and removal.
Do you actually recycle what you pick up?
We route recyclables — electronics, metal, cardboard — to the proper facilities wherever they're available, instead of sending them to the landfill.
Can you take old TVs?
Yes, including heavy old tube TVs that most trash services won't accept. We'll give you an upfront price before we load.
Can I book just the labor without removal?
Definitely. We're happy to provide the lifting and moving help on its own — just let us know what you need moved and where.
How is labor-only help priced?
We'll give you a clear, upfront price based on the size of the job when you request your free quote.
Can you take just one mattress?
Yes — single-item mattress pickups are one of our most common jobs. You'll get an upfront price before we load it.
Do you remove the bed frame too?
Absolutely. We can take the frame, box spring, headboard, and any other bedroom furniture you're clearing out.
Do you disconnect it for me?
We can disconnect standard plug-in units. Please empty and defrost it ahead of time so it's ready to go.
Is the refrigerant handled correctly?
Yes. We follow proper guidelines for refrigerant-containing appliances and recycle the metal whenever we can.
Can you get a piano down a flight of stairs?
In most cases, yes. We'll confirm access and stairs when we give your quote so the crew arrives ready.
Do you take pool tables apart?
Yes — we break down the slate, rails, and frame as needed and haul the whole thing away.
Do you recycle the electronics?
We route electronics to e-waste recycling wherever a facility is available, rather than sending them to the landfill.
Can you handle a whole office of equipment?
Yes. We regularly clear out offices full of computers, monitors, and cabling — just tell us the volume when you request a quote.
How long does a typical cleanout take?
Most garage or basement cleanouts are done in a few hours. We'll give you a time estimate along with your upfront quote.
Can you handle an entire house?
Yes. We regularly clear full homes from top to bottom and leave them broom-swept and ready for the next step.
Will you donate items the family wants to give away?
Of course. Let us know what you'd like donated and we'll do our best to get usable items to a local charity.
Do I need to prepare the hot tub before removal?
Please have the hot tub drained and disconnected from power and water before we arrive. From there, our crew handles the dismantling and removal.
Can you reach a hot tub in the backyard?
In most cases, yes. We'll assess access when we provide your quote so there are no surprises on the day of removal.
Do you take apart the playset or shed for me?

Will my lawn be a mess afterward?
We clear the debris and tidy up the area when we're done, leaving your yard ready for its next use.
